Necessary Supplies:

Personal art supplies play a crucial role in each student's artistic journey. We strongly encourage children to bring their own art palettes, pens, markers, and sketchbooks. This not only ensures that they have the tools they are most comfortable with but also fosters a sense of ownership and preparedness, making their art experience more personal and engaging.

Intermediate Art (5th-8th)

This class is more demanding.

Intermediate art is a full curriculum guided class.

It consists of:

  • Building an art Portfolio
  • Painters Tape Art
  • Accordion Books
  • Silhouettes- includes Color Theory
  • Pinch Pot Creations
  • Optical Illusions
  • Outer Space Art
  • Surrealism
  • Art centers
  • Landscape Art
  • Marble Art

Note!

This class will have homework that will need to be completed!

It is imperative that my art students complete their homework, because it goes along with creating portraits and projects.

If the homework isn't complete, the students will be uncertain and have less confidence to complete art projects in class.

Some projects will take two classes to complete, being the class is much more advance.

It's important that all students have discipline and be able to listen when I give instructions.  We have limited time to complete class, so when everyone is quiet and attentive, we can accomplish a lot in our class!

Why is art important in academics ?

  • Reduces stress
  • Develop social-emotional and interpersonal skills.
  • Enrich their experiences
  • Handle constructive criticism
  • Bolster academic achievements
  • Improve focus
