Welcome to Algebra 1

This math course teaches students how to use variables and numbers to solve math problems. We will cover topics such as linear equations, functions, and graphing. Other topics include but not limited to:

  • Linear equations: Equations where each term has an exponent of 1, and the graph is a straight line
  • Inequalities: Used to compare two values or expressions
  • Functions: An introduction to functions, including exponential functions
  • Graphing: Graphing lines and functions
  • Solving equations: Solving linear systems, quadratics, and other equations
  • Real numbers: Real numbers and their operations
  • Polynomials: Polynomials and their operations
  • Factoring: Factoring and solving by factoring
  • Exponents: Exponents and exponential functions

 

This course lays the foundation for more advanced topics in Algebra such as Algebra 2 and Geometry.

Helps students build a strong foundation of understanding and retain math concepts

Helps students build confidence in their ability to compute math accurately and successfully

Helps students prepare for standardize math test and more advanced math concepts
