Welcome to Physical Science!!!

Textbook: TBA

This 9-month class will introduce and explores the fundamental concepts on matter, energy, forces, motion, and waves.  It will also explore the fundamental concepts of physics and chemistry.

We will learn these aspects from reading assignments, lectures, and experiments.  The class core concepts defined:

·         Matter and Energy:

Students will explore the properties of matter, including its states, composition, and structure (atoms, elements, compounds). They will also learn about different forms of energy and how it interacts with matter.

·         Physics Fundamentals:

Students will cover fundamental physics concepts such as motion, forces, Newton's laws, energy, work, and waves (sound, light, and electromagnetic waves).

·         Chemistry Fundamentals:

Students will learn about chemical reactions, chemical bonding, and the periodic table.

·         Scientific Method:

Students will explore scientific method, including observation, experimentation, data collection, analysis, and drawing conclusions.

·         Laboratory Skills:

Students will develop essential laboratory skills through hands-on experiments and investigations.

Class Mission and Objective is to:

·         Provide students with a foundational understanding of physical science concepts.

·         Help students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through scientific inquiry.

·         Prepare students for further study in physics, chemistry, and other STEM fields.

·         Help students understand the role of science in everyday life.
