Course Description

This math course introduces and teaches students how to use variables and numbers to solve math problems. We will cover topics such as linear equations, functions, and graphing. Other topics include but are not limited to:

  • Linear equations: Equations where each term has an exponent of 1, and the graph is a straight line
  • Inequalities: Used to compare two values or expressions
  • Functions: An introduction to functions, including exponential functions
  • Graphing: Graphing lines and functions
  • Solving equations: Solving linear systems, quadratics, and other equations
  • Real numbers: Real numbers and their operations
  • Polynomials: Polynomials and their operations
  • Factoring: Factoring and solving by factoring
  • Exponents: Exponents and exponential functions
