Spanish 2 (Abeka) Building on the foundations of Spanish 1, this course expands students’ vocabulary and grammar skills, emphasizing more complex sentence structures, advanced verb tenses (such as the past and future), and conversational fluency. Students will continue developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency while exploring deeper cultural and historical aspects of the Spanish-speaking world. Course Highlights: Textbook: This school year, we will use the Spanish 2 student textbook from Abeka. This comprehensive resource is designed to advance Spanish as a second language for students in grades 9–12. Goal: The curriculum aims to transition students from basic comprehension to intermediate oral fluency and cultural proficiency from a Christian perspective. Format: This updated edition is an "all-in-one" resource, combining the student text and the vocabulary manual into a single workbook for streamlined learning. Skill Building: Beyond intermediate grammar, the course focuses on critical thinking, independent writing assignments, and refining effective study habits for language acquisition. Spiritual Integration: A core goal of the curriculum is to provide students with the confidence and advanced language skills necessary to share the Gospel and engage in meaningful ministry with Spanish speakers globally.
